Physics Services

Our staff comes from varied backgrounds that provide unique and exception expertise in multiple areas of radiology physics, dose evaluation, QA standards, state/federal regulations and technology/safety training. RPC offers a wide gamut of services to assure your questions are always answered and your concerns disappear. Follow the included links below to learn more about each service and how RPC can assist you.

Equipment Survey Tests and Image Quality/Dose Analysis

We perform annual physics surveys and initial acceptance testing for all modalities of radiological equipment. We test the basic equipment functions, but more importantly we analyze image quality and patient dose to recommend improvements.

Accreditation Testing

Many insurance companies now require accreditation for advanced imaging modalities such as CT and MRI. RPC can perform the necessary accreditation testing and assist with information submission.

Radiation Shielding Evaluations

To assure public safety from unnecessary radiation exposure, radiation producing equipment must be evaluated to determine the necessary amount of radiation shielding materials to install in exam room walls, windows, doors, ceilings and floors. RPC has extensive experience with radiation shielding evaluations.

Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Services

Your Radiation Safety Officer is the person with their head on the chopping block if things go wrong. Problems will always arise, but if problems occur because your RSO is not sure how to develop an entire system wide Radiology Quality Assurance Program, maybe it is time to allow the experts to assist. RPC staff can take on the responsibilities of the RSO.

Annual Audit of Radiation QA Program (RSO Audit)

The largest responsibility for the RSO is to perform an annual QA Program audit (RSO Audit). This is a yearly review, critique and correction of the regular QC tests, system policies and standardized procedures from all radiology departments within their organization. This includes updating inaccurate policies and procedures (assuming the RSO knows all the changes made by state regulators). RPC can perform the Annual RSO Audit on behalf of your facility.

Educational Training Lectures and Seminars

All the best planning, policies and equipment testing will not help if your staff does not have accurate information about new technology or radiation safety procedures. RPC offers several training lectures including: Radiation Safety, Proper Fluoroscopic Technique and Safety, CR Technology for Technologists, and even Chemical Film Processor QC and Emergency Maintenance. We can also develop new training courses to meet your specific needs. Please contact us to inquire how RPC can help you improve you knowledge.
